I teach Therapeutic Yoga to MisFits. Gen Xers (and sometimes Y) who don’t feel at home in mainstream Yoga circles: Alternative folks, punx, the rebels, underdogs, neurodiverse, introverts, geeks, and bookworms.

As a Yoga Therapist, my specialty is helping people with Back Pain and Anxiety

This is a page more about me on a personal note if you are looking for my ‘official credentials‘ and details about my training you can visit my certification and training page. Yoga and I: an unlikely love story.

I never planned to practice Yoga. As a rock ‘n roll, smoking, rebellious type, Yoga wasn’t even on my radar. In fact, I went to my first Yoga class as a favour to a friend. But that class was a complete game-changer. For the first time that I could remember my normally frantic mind was only paying attention to one thing. And physically I felt amazing! I walked out of that first class feeling like I had shoes made of clouds. This was it. I was in love. Yoga forever. So eventually I decided to teach Yoga.

Want to know what makes me tick?

I value honesty, face my fears, and seek out adventure.

I’m an activist through and through. Peace, the environment, and animal welfare top my list, but I’ll never hesitate to champion a cause that’s close to my heart.

I squeal for antiques, vintage clothing and music, spoken word, philosophy, and poetry rock my world.

I value meaningful, in-depth conversations that open my mind to new ideas and my heart to others, and I bore easily with small talk and gossip.

When I’m not in Yoga class, I’m likely curled up with a Yoga book or a selection of vintage-inspired blogs, watching a little Star Trek, Anime, or documentary film or two, or walking along the water in search of a quiet spot to settle in and read.

I’m a true introvert; I embrace solitude. But when I do venture out into the busy world, you’re likely to find me treasure hunting, at either a flea market, thrift store, estate sale or vintage fair.

I also can be spotted at a tattoo or comic book conventions; I love a good mineral or crystal show. Occasionally, I’ve just got to bust out my red lipstick, get all dolled up and head out in search of a good gig.

My deepest wish for you:

Is that, throughout our practice together, you gain the tools and the time you need to feel better physically and to become happier, healthier, and relaxed. That, in turn, will affect your loved ones and communities, so that others benefit from our practice together as well. I hope to create more peace in the world one student at a time.

So whether you’re a complete Yoga virgin or you’ve tried Yoga before but just haven’t found the right teacher; if you’re struggling with inflexibility, anxiety or back pain; if you want someone to encourage, inspire, help, and guide you, then let’s do this!
