Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is characterized by the relaxed practice of floor shapes using the support of props when needed for three to five minutes at a time.  These still, long-held floor-based poses invite in a deep stretch and a new sense of spaciousness and relaxation in the body. In Yin Yoga, we gently coax the mind to be present and aware through this stillness and sensation in the body, building mental resiliency from the inside out.

This registered series focuses on Nourishing our Nervous system and Back Pain relief.

We start with grounding and centering.

Then slow flow through therapeutic movements for joint mobility, flexibility, and strength (including the core).

Then we move back into stillness & long holds of Yin.

And finally, we finish this class with a Yoga Nidra practice.

Yoga Nidra, sometimes called yogic sleep, is a highly beneficial guided relaxation where I will take you through a body scan. This draws your attention inward, putting you into a state of consciousness that sits between waking and sleeping.
